So you want to make some coffee huh? Welcome to the wide world of specialty coffee. We are covertly sponsored by my business partners at Loyal Coffee in Colorado Springs, because friends don’t let friends drink burnt garbage.
Lodge coffee corner
Big Machine, makes a half gallon or half a half gallon. Use the measuring cup, 110 gram scoop from the house coffee canister. Dump it into the grinder hopper, make sure the grounds container is attached, make sure the grind size knob is on 17. Grind away. Dump it into the filter and select make coffee, then long press the full Carafe button or half carafe button, wait and enjoy. If you just want a half a jug, scoop to the 70 gram line and do the same. There is a second carafe so feel free to start up a second one.
Espresso Machine, uses the bean canister marked “Spro” There is a milk dispenser kept in the fridge that slides right on to the little spout to the left of the head, gently pop it on, when you’re done it can be easily popped off and placed back in the fridge without having to clean anything. Feel free to adjust the dose settings and what not, its your coffee!
Chemex pour over (the glass thing) for you fancy coffee nerds! Use the small canister of beans. 20-30 grams is all you want, fill the cup to the bottom line marked pour over. grind it up, drop a big paper filter into the carafe and turn the electric water kettle on. Once its ready pour in a couple tablespoons of water, enough to wet the beans, and wait for 15 seconds as the coffee off-gases, then pour in another 16-20oz of water slowly making circles into the grounds with the kettle. Enjoy
Bunk house coffee pot, for those of you that can’t bare to walk to the lodge to make coffee without having coffee first
A full pot is 60oz, that’s a lot. Grind size is preset, the max grind time on the grinder is 40 seconds. So for a full pot you’ll need to run 3x 40 second grinds to fill up the giant filter. Sorry. stand there and meditate for a bit. A half pot does best with 2x 40 second grinds. after filling the paper filter insert it into the basket and pop it in, turn the machine on, it’ll take a minute but its good stuff.
All extra coffee beans are stored in the respective freezers if the canisters run out. If we look like we are running low SAY SOMETHING FOR GOD’s SAKE!!
